About

Kai is a Toronto-based trumpet player and composer. Born in Belgrade, in a family of artists, he was exposed to the world of music from an early age.When he was 7 years old, Kai began playing the trumpet and passionately fell in love with it. As young as 9 years old, he was already playing in a classical music orchestra, and traveling to perform in various music festivals locally and abroad. At the age of 13 Kais family immigrated to Canada and he went on to continue his music education in a Toronto based high school for the arts where he gained considerable experience in big band and ensemble performance. Prior to graduation, he was awarded scholarships from Berkley College of Music and Humber College but made the decision to continue his education in Toronto. While studying at Humber, Kai was a part of both big band and small jazz and contemporary music ensembles. Since graduation, Kai has participated in various studio recordings, composed and performed music independently as well as in collaboration with other bands. He continues to develop his own music as well as to perform frequently in various Toronto venues.
